What I did on my first day: After Tak gave me the tour of the valley, I headed on over to the Digsite, and waited around for Carter to get done with his morning stretches before going to excavate the ruins. I found some statues, fossils, coins, and ores. All I really cared about were the statues and fossils (Nami's favorite). I then went and tracked down Nami to give her one of the fossils, before heading back to my farm to take care of my cow, her name is Bella. I also planted the tomato seeds that I got from Tak. Now I am currently stalking Nami to try to get to her room to see her diary.

I played last night a bit. I didn't finish my first day though. -_-;

Alright! I am currently on day three and stopping for the night. I found the first tablet in the digsite (on my second day too!). I have given Nami something everyday (yay for stalking!). Girls-
I decided to stalk, I mean, woo all three girls. Everyday I go to their residences, give them flowers or skulls I yanked out of the ground mere minutes before and read their diaries. ...Except for Nami’s. I am lucky to ever see Nami’s diary as she pretends to be asleep and climbs out the window to avoid me as I knock at her door for hours on end. Or so it seems. By the end of the season Celia and Muffy were up to four hearts each. Nami had three.

Villagers-
I’ve made friends with several villagers. Tim gave me the Strange Hoe, Gustafa gave me the Strange Sickle, and Ruby gave me Ruby Spice. All but a few now turn their heads as I walk past. They have commented on my being a hard worker for growing crops and that you can tell I work hard by looking at my hands.

Daily Life-
I planted 20 plots of seeds, some Strawberry, Potato, Tomato, and Watermelon. Once grown I gave a few as gifts and sold the rest to Van. Also cooked up and sold several Ruby Spices and a stack of Fodder to Van. Mined and fished quite a bit as well. Found the C Tablet the first day I went mining. Caught a Huge Sharshark. Also bought and planted one Apple Seed and one Grape Seed.

Random Observations-
My dog often sits behind a tree all day and doesn’t eat the Mugwort I put in his dish. Just because he and I ate nothing but Mugwort everyday, and probably smell strongly of it, is no reason to snub it. Dogs these days, sheesh.

Van comes on days he’s not supposed to. I guess losing that 20lbs on the Matkins diet made the trip to Forget seem a lot shorter.

Tak is apparently not as good at picking chickens as he is cows. I base this on the fact that the first chicken I got is defective. It’s head falls forward and it goes into a sleep coma every time I pick it up.


I ended the season with 1,659G

Good grief! And I thought I was doing well... BTW, what do Tim and Gustafa like so they can give me the Hoe and Sickle?

I got Gustafa to like me by day 4 just by giving him flowers. Tim I got to like me by day 5, but I'm not too sure how. I just kept offering him stuff until he liked something. Might have been mined items? I know I gave him fish after I got the fishing pole. I don't think I've ever gotten them to like me that fast before...

I know for sure Tim is a fan of any cooked meal.

I decided to go after Nami in my file since I've never married her before in all my years of playing. Will post my stats later though, or well, exact stats. I've seen Nami's first heart event though.

I finally got Nami's second heart event after stalking her for well over half a season...

Vesta makes a meal out of everything, doesn't she...?

And speaking of gift giving, Patrick told me to get rid of a skull I showed him and then suggested 'throwing it at the sun or something'. I completely forgot he said that, aha.

I'm on Summer 3rd (about to be 4th) and I've seen the first three heart events for Nami, she has four hearts, but I'm not going to propose to her. I'm going to let her last heart event be her proposal, as I have actually never seen that one.

I am currently saving up for a star cow, her name will be Echo (for some reason I am obsessing over musical names for my animals [except my sheep, I wasn't really thinking about my sheep, and I always name my horse Epona] my starting cows name is Bella [after the song Bella Note from "Lady and the Tramp] and my male cows name is Clef [like a treble clef or a base clef]).

I am now friends with Gustafa, and am working on befriending Cody and Chris. Then I will start working on other people
(like Daryl and Lumina). I don't like trying to befriend everyone at once, because the I don't have as much to do later in the game, so I befriend people little by little.

I found out that Daryl likes fossils, it's really strange. You'd think that he would like the statues, but he actually hates them...

I have also decided what mine and Nami's son will be named. His name shall be, Chord (again with the musically themed names. Hooray! :))

I currently do not own any chickens, it's really sad. Takakura is always going into the chicken coop, but to no avail, there are no chickens in there yet...

I do already have the pond built though. It's really nice, none of my animals ever go around it though. In fact, my sheep likes to hide in the tall grass, when he lays down, I can't see him! By the way, my sheeps name is Wren (totally not a musical name... fail...)

That is my status so far, I am going to play later tonight and hopefulle get Nami's fourth heart event. Then after that I will only have to see her proposal event, which you can only see in the winter time anyway.

I wish I had this game no one seems to be playing magical melody...

Sorry it took me so long to post guys, wanted to get done with Spring for the most part where I had some solid progress before I posted. Anyways I'm on Spring 9th, my farm is named Blue Farm, character's name is Jon, and I've got some decent progress I think.

Hey, I have a question... How do you fish in this game? That is the one thing I have never figured out (not that I've tried that hard...).

You get the pole from Van (or Galen if you befriend him in chapter 2 or after) and go to any spot with water (northern stream, southern stream, goddess pond, or turtle pond) cast your line and wait. When you hear that nibbling noise, you've got a fish, just wait for the splash noise and when you're bobber goes under you generally have to wait a moment, then click A. If you press to fast or too slow then you miss the fish. What I normally do is click R first then A, pressing R does nothing, but I use it for a sort of timer. Oh and make sure you've eaten plenty before you fish because those annoying stomach growls can interupt you at the worst times.

I bought my star cow, as well as my first chicken, her name is Melody. Unfortunatly I forgot that chickens have to eat too, and completely forgot to order bird seed... I placed her outside but don't know if she ever ate or not, so she may have gone her first day at the farm without any food...

HMR: My dog hides... When he sees Daryl coming on by, he ducks behind the wood next to the barn and stays there 'til he leaves. He's a coward.


I have a chicken now named Rolly. Most recently I bought the fertilizing-master, Pitt. Or at least I hope he'll be.

Got the sickle from Gustafa. Actually got it on the third day. I also found the first tablet. I forgot to check which one it was. Not that it matters. I was just curious.

I still haven't moved on to Summer. I wanted to before posting, but I'm done for the night as I can't access the Gamecube now and I wanted to be sure to post. I was so close to making it, too. Oh well, tomorrow, I guess.

My dog is pretty social for some reason, can hear him bark when I'm at the bar. Also, odd thing happend to me today. I saw someone unfamiliar walking on my land, and to my suprise, Ruby came to the farm to look around. Took a few pictures of that, and some other things. Mainly this season I plan to focus on building up some money for a cow, maybe another sheep, and some hens.

On my first file, my dog was very brave. He hated Daryl, too. He'd bark a little and sniff at other people, but he always barked up a storm at Daryl. I'm sure he knew of his plots, though! Also, pretty hyper. He'd run around the farm a lot if he wasn't hanging out with the chickens.

I think on only one of my files Ruby visited me. Keep in mind that I didn't focus much on her on all of them. But every so often, she'd walk over.

Sometimes I can.

Oh and I suppose an update is in order for the night.

On the 2nd day of summer, and just saw Nami's 3rd heart event. I'm really liking Nami's character, I used to just kind of blow her off and didn't appriciate her, but now she's one of my favorite characters it seems.

Won over a few more people. Romana decided I was worthy of her old watering can which holds one whole square worth of water. She’s so generous. Somewhat better was Vesta, who also gave me a cast off item in the form of a weird hoe. Daryl was by far the most generous to me and gave me the seed maker. People once again praised my crops, they also commented that I’ve become a talented cook.

Daily Life-
Planted several more plots of seeds and turned the produce into seeds to resale. Bought and planted orange, banana, and peach trees. Alas, I planted the peach tree too close to the other trees and it died, I then bought another one and moved it further away from the other scary life-sucking trees. Didn’t mine or fish much, mostly watered plants and chased people around to give them gifts.

Random Observations-

That cricket/roach bug that tells you you’re an idiot when you plant your trees too close together? Yeah, he kinda freaked me out. Creepy little bugger.

My dog does not understand the concept of guarding the property. He lets everyone wander around without the least bit of protest. ...Except for me when I’m riding my horse, then he charges me and barks like a rabid squeak toy.

I ended the season with 30,248G

And thus my Summer, and massive block of text, came to an end. All rejoiced.

Dang Totoro, so much money in a small amount of time. Gotta learn your secret. Always finding myself strapped for cash, was embaressing when I couldn't pay Nami's bill in her third heart event Oh well. All my money goes towards future investments anyways. My orchard is done for now, until I get hybrids that is. 3 banana trees, and one of every other tree seed you can buy at Vesta's farm. Debating on buying a chicken or saving up for a cow now though... Planning on a star cow if any cow though.

How do I get my money you ask? Why, I deal drugs spices to Van. But yeah, my money comes from abusing the Ruby Spice duplicate cheat. After a played the game honestly a few times I got into the habit of doing that. So, when I said I’d “made several Ruby Spices” to sell to Van in Spring that really meant I had them stock piled all over the farm, sold all those, ran home, cooked up some more, ran back and sold those too. *cough* Yep.


Season 3-

Of the people I can currently access only Hugh, Wally, and Marlin are left to win over, everyone else likes me. Guess I’m too stingy about giving milk away, and heck if I’m buying Bodyhyper, or whatever, for Marlin. He can keep taking my crappy B grade crops. Oh, and Murry, I've been ignoring him because he annoys me with his refusal of perfectly good food and the stealing of items off my farm once befriended.

Daily Life-
Planted some Carrots and Sweet Potatoes. Made a lot of Yam Soup. Was kinda bored and got back into fishing a bit this season. Tried really hard to win over a few stubborn villagers, failed on most. Oh, and I finally got my dog to like me.

Random Observations-

I am convinced Marlin, who I keep trying to call Merlin for some reason, is related to Carter. That would also explain why he keeps hitting on Celia, who would be his niece is he were Vesta’s brother instead of Carter’s son. Yeah, I’m telling myself that so I don’t feel as creepy for marrying him in the girl version.

Also, as I won’t really be getting anything else this year, I made a vid of my farm. It’s crappy quality, but it’s under a minute long if anyone actually cares to see the exact same farm you’ve already seen every time you play AWL.

I started my file today. I'm only on day 3 of Spring. I have my one cow named Cassie and my pointed eared dog named Pudge. I have my single 2 tomatoes growing.

Nami and I are engaged. It is Winter 2, and I can't wait to get to Chapter 2. I'll post a big update at the end of the chapter, so get ready!

I've decided that Romana is a crazy old cat lady that only keeps cats so they can meow to Lumina's piano playing, and if I refuse to give her a flower, I'm afraid she's going to beat me with a parasol.

So I spent forever going through all the memory cards we had and was not able to find my awesome AWL or AnWL files . I was so close to finishing them too.

Now I am sad and hesitant to start over. But I'm still gonna. I haven't yet though . I'm not sure which one I'm gonna play yet... I'll get on that now.

I will make it chapter 2 tomorrow, I just don't feel like doing it tonight. I have just been taking it slow in the Winter, but I am on Winter day 8. :)

I'm closing in on the end of Summer, all but one of Nami's events seen, and unfortunately my goal to buy a Star Cow won't happen. Maybe next season then...

Closing off the last two and a half days of Spring had me getting Ruby Spice.

Pitt's too adventurous.  Chickens usually stay closer to the coop and along that stretch of land.  I found him over at Takakura's once.  He likes to play hide and seek, too.  I found him cleverly hiding behind the tree next to your house when I was putting them in for the night.  Not near it, actually behind the thing where I couldn't see him until I was right on it.  I had planned to use that time to go fishing...

Oh, and I almost beat Kassey.  Drat!


SUMMER
To hit off the first day, Takakura presented me with a horse, who I named Machkik.

I haven't been able to dig much.  Carter's been stubborn about going.  Though, at least I didn't have to decide rather I'm doing that or 'the other thing'.

Tim and Romana each gave me their respective tools.  Tim, himself, had the pleasure of eating my first cooked meal.  He said it was better than Ruby's cooking.  But I'm wondering if he's just saying that to get more food off me, because Ruby doesn't feed him properly...

Two eggs were hatched.  They were both girls, Miyu and Lucy.  Miyu's a bit of a pain.  She's really lazy and always sleeping at the worst of times.

Another egg was hatched afterwards, but I sold him...

I also bought a sheep who I named Mais.  Hopefully this means I get a heck of alotta gold wool.

The Sprites gave the blue feather to me, as well.  It'll be sitting on the shelf 'til the end of the year.


FALL
We had another girl chick hatched.  She was named Tango.  After the day, I had wished I saved the name for my cat per the reason the name even came to me, and gave the chick the cat's name I already had picked out.  But... Oh well.

Vesta finally gave in.  She gifted me a hoe.  Like an ugly dress, she wouldn't be caught dead with it.  Or something like that.

And I finally remembered to go to Daryl's house, so he could give me the seed maker.  We plot against companies, as we speak.

Season 4-

Random Observations-
So I went looking for Wally to give him some sashimi, he was nowhere to be found but, while looking for him, I noticed that his wife, Chris, was standing half way up the mountain path. She stayed there all day. Just standing. People walked past her, she did nothing. As to Wally, he wasn’t seen again until he popped out of his house the next morning like he’d been there all along. No idea why they were both being glitchy on the same day.

Celia is happy to be away from Marlin. Every morning I wait for her to wake up, I give her a flower, I listen to what she has learned about the wonders of potato skin’s oil absorbency. After this I pick up our child and show him to Celia to make sure he doesn’t need changing before I put my face near him for a cuddle or begin to toss him up in the air. Once I’ve done my chores I take our son out to play in Daryl’s lab or at the dig site, our boy’s going to be a scholar. That, or he’s going to be scarred for life from going in dark underground sites and filthy laboratories... So far he screams “Nooooooo!” a lot while in both places and insists on talking about how pretty plants are.

Villagers-
I finally won over Marlin. It only took four and a half seasons. Murry is still not liking me, but I can’t blame him, I’m not sure I’d like someone who gives me fodder as a gift. Also have Kate liking me, she’ll make a fine future wife for my son. Grant and ...his wife, whose name I've forgotten, also like me. Galen and Hardy forked over the last two gift tools.

Daily Life-
Mostly I’m caring for a soon to give birth cow and trying to make my son into a scholar. Did some mining and got the D Tablet, also fished a decent amount. Had a lot of Strawberry and Potato plants to take care of at the start of the season.

Random Observations-

I ran into another glitch I’ve never noticed before. I was walking around with my kid, picking plants as I went, and in doing so he got stuck where I set him down and couldn’t move from the spot. It was where the Mugwort grows between Cody and the twins houses. I was facing the twins house and set the kid down to the right of the plant, I couldn’t pick him up or talk to him, he had to stay there until his mother went looking for him at his bedtime.

There are multiple places this can happen, I've run into it before. I used to always wake my son to the farthest points in the valley and get him to walk back on his own. Perhaps that is why he always leans toward art...

/random intrusion

Well since my 3DS is really my only camera, I can take pictures with it, it saves em to the SD card, then I can go on the internet browser and directly upload them to an image hosting site from my 3DS. Very useful since my iPad lacks a SD card slot to do so.

Double post, but oh well.


So I'm closing on the end of Fall now, and figured I'd just combine my Summer and Fall progress together.


So as I mentioned, Ruby unexpectedly came to my farm. I wouldn't have minded it as much, but she said this.... Should I tell Tim?


After that odd encounter, I decided I need to buy seed for next season (and my final tree seed) and headed off to Vesta's. Only Celia was home, and I after buying all that I wanted, I noticed I only had 1G left... I had never been so poor in the game before


Got Nami's second heart scene the next morning. Was a nice scene up until Nami left without paying her tab. I offered to cover for her, forgetting I only had 1G left... Luckily Muffy didn't care and teased that Griffin would forget anyways by the time Nami came back, throwing in that I should buy her a drink next time. It's like this season was filled with girls hitting on my character, even Celia.


I just want to ride him....


Now if he had a red bandana then he might look a little familiar...


Is this about what happened with Ruby? Cuz I swear she came onto.... Oh Nami's missing? Well sure I'll look around for her!


New barn animals. Blurry, but I got Tony the horse, and Cocoa the star cow to add to the family. Was the animal's bath day, but Mother Nature wouldn't have it and made it rain for 2 days straight.

Also saw the Harvest Festival (pictures were way too blurry), a Lumina event, and have befriended quite a few townies. People keep commenting on how hard I'm trying in the fields, and how I have plenty of time to get used to it. Oh and I got the Seed Maker from Daryl, and now I'm just saving up for Winter, so that I can knock up Betty when she stops giving milk. Can't wait for next year, gonna be awesome.

Yeah, darn Apple. Holding up until the iPad 4. >.> But that's pretty convenient, still! And you get to take pics in 3D.

Ok. I need some advice... I'm seriously thinking about starting this summer group play game over, but start AWL:SE... I think I would go for either Lumina or Nami. Is the Ruby Spice trick still in that game? Should I go for it? Please tell me! I would post pictures of the new file and more detailed stuff...

To be honest, I would probably go after Lumina. I am like obsessed with a music themed farm... But I need to know if the ruby spice trick is in it.

EDIT: I have decided I am going to start AWL:SE tonight. The Ruby Spice trick is not in this game, but I have decided I am going to try to make my money legitly in this game. So expect some screenshots tonight! (gonna use my 3DS like HMR)

EDIT 2: Decided against it. I did start it, but it wasn't as appealing as I remembered it being. I'm just gonna play the original AWL instead. I've come so far in it, I don't to just give it all up...

Going after Lumina would've been sweet, because no one's gone after her.  But you have made it pretty far to have start over.



WINTER
I have so much time to kill during this season.

It's been raining at just the right moments, so crops are growing themselves, and  I don't let out the chickens during Winter (and some days in Fall).  Plus, the foraging is at it's low after dealing with Fall.  I just had to water the crops the last few days.

So, Galen had gotten alot more attention than usual as I presented him with more fish this season than any other.  I'm sure Carter's been enjoying how things were going, too.

Potatoes and strawberries were grown this time.  Just as Vesta suggested.  I didn't have anything to add to the lot.

I was going to buy something to make Winter more exciting, but decided on saving that for Spring.  It's going to be awesome.

Pretty dull, yet fulfilling.  That was my Winter.

I would love to see screen shots Koz if you'd want to do them. Not sure if people like mine, but I just post em anyways

Celia- I noticed people give Galen fish, but I typically befriend him now with Hackberries. He loves those too, and they're very easy to get.

No progress for me yet. Was busy for a while, might get into it tonight.

I'm still torn on whether or not to play special edition... I could always play both! That would work!

If you have enough time to do so, then by all means do. Might help you decide which one you should stick with.

Ok, after much deliberation... I have decided to go with A Wonderful Life: Special Edition... It may move a bit slower, (and characters just magically pop in out of nowhere) but I really did like that game, and I've never finished it... So here are my stats so far! I have a ton of screenshots that I will post when I get done with the spring season. But in the meantime I am having an extremely difficult time with fishing. I have only been able to catch one fish a day since I got the fishing pole, now I only got it two in-game days ago, but it's just ridiculus. Although one a day is all I need for Galen, I would like to not have to go fishing every single day.... -_-

I found the C Tablet already, and have begun friending people in the valley; however, the only person who is my friend is Nina... Not even Lumina, whom I am courting, likes me yet... :(

I really just fish to pass time.  I don't like having my character turn in for the night before 9:30.

Between selling it to Van for 60G, more or less depending on the fish, or just giving it to Galen for free, I prefer giving it away believe it or not.  (Tim got one or two of my catches)
Even though the hackberries sell for half to a third of the price of a fish, I just stick to selling them.  I make bad decisions.

Galen also likes crops, too.  He got an occasional tomato during Summer from me.
