Awesome. I'll be watching for updates ^^.

There was a trailer from awhile back too: http://www.3dsfocus.com/2011/10/video-harv...origin-3ds.html

Pretty good in motion and much more excited for it then the original 3DS one (which was just a port).

Also you can ride pandas. So mmm.
Darth-Paper-Boy
Panda moved sorta robotic-y. Reminded me of this picture a friend took when he went to Japan in like, 2006.
trinest
I guess but no doubt its still 6 - 8 months off the Japanese release and a year for the English release.

Wow that really does look just like the panda from that video lalaexdee.gif.

I wonder if this game will have a pre-order bonus /way too early to be thinking of that.
Horcrux

Apparently it's concept art for the protagonists.

Charmy
THEY BOTH HAVE HATS. WHEEEEEEEEE!

They look kind of like remodeled versions of Jack and Claire.
Lyra
They do look like Jack and Claire. Is this just going to be for the 3DS?
Charmy
I'd think it'd be out just for 3DS.
Pumpkin Patch
Yep it is definitely 3DS only.

There is an update on the site but it is about a key chain thing. I don't think it's news about the game itself. I hope they show more screenshots soon.
epona
Preview!

For anyone who hasn't seen it yet.
Noviwan
This and RF 4 are key reasons for me to buy a 3DS

Agreed.

Also, that red head with the glasses is hot.
epona
The hot red head is Allen, he's the town's hair stylist.

Do you guys have anyone bringing you information on LoB?
Lyra
That looks pretty cool. I'm going to have to get a 3DS after all.
Noviwan

Wow, um... The characters sure are diverse looking this time around, aren't they? lalaexdee.gif
Daniella
I just hope their personalities are diverse. d:

Also I'm glad to see the graphics aren't like the other Harvest Moons for DS.
Charmy
Although I think her design looks a bit awkward, I'm interested in the magician girl. MAGICIANS. <3
-Looks at townspeople-
I LIKE THE COWBOY. lalaexdee.gif

This is my main problem lately. Let's hope for the best.
Noviwan
I like filecia and iroha cant wait to see the othr 2
Twilight Wanderer
Felicia is definitely my favorite. Michelle and Tina are cute looking, but I like Felicia's personality AND looks, so yeah. lalaexdee.gif

But Allen is going to be first.

Also, Bleach lovers... Doesn't that third guy kinda remind you of Captain Kyōraku? I can kinda see him being a womanizer and having a drinking problem. lalaexdee.gif
Noviwan
I see what your getting at with the third guy lol give him a straw hat and BAM
Twilight Wanderer
I know, right? lalaexdee.gif

Nothing new on it, besides the fact that they keep stating the Japanese release date OVER AND OVER.

But on the front page of the website I go to, there was THIS:

Cute, yes? x3
Noviwan
that is cute happy new years yup
Darth-Paper-Boy
Is this new? http://www.bokumono.com/series/hajimari/comic/index.html
Twilight Wanderer
Reckon so. I haven't seen it until now.

What cute art... @_@
Noviwan
I wish I could read that... :I
epona
You can Noviwan. A member on Ushi no Tane translated the comic. Link to Comic.

Also a new bachelor has been revealed.

His name is Neil.
Twilight Wanderer
From what I've read, he's a tough guy that secretly likes cats. :B
Darth-Paper-Boy
So I can move other people's houses... this seems perfect. For the exact reason used in the comic.
Twilight Wanderer
Yes, I've quite liked that idea since the beginning. lalaexdee.gif

Will help if one gets in my way or something. Hopefully it's not at certain restrained points in the game, though.
Noviwan
OH MY ###### GOD IM PUMPED AFTER READING THAT TRANSLATION THE SECOND HE MOVED THAT GUYS HOUSE AWAY AND THEN SAW THE LADIES!
Twilight Wanderer
I'm glad they decided to give Allen a pompous attitude.

It'll be interesting to see what his lines are like. :]

Can someone please explain what the big deal is with liking cats? :|
That Cam guy from ToTT had the same secret too.
Suiko
The handheld games have been really disappointing since AWL (which was pretty much BTN). I wish they'd make a new console game

agreed!
Darth-Paper-Boy
Hey, Igusa's blog has a comic on it now. Don't see it on the main bokumono site. Looks like Wind Bazaar, but the Google Translate mentions the new one so iuno.

Mizukithepanda
Right so.... text.

Hajimari Wan no Daichi I believe they mean 'wan' as in 'one', so.... It would be 'The Land of Origins' (lit. The Land of First Beginnings, but that just sounds bad.)

I'm gonna number the text bubbles. They go from right to left, up to down. :D

1. Good Afternoon!

2. Starting today, I'm going to become the owner of this farm!

3. But... um... I'm the owner of this farm...

4. But I was given this invitation~ *insert pouty vocal tics that can't be translated*

5. "We'd like you to become the owner of the farm in Yamabiko Town starting on February 23. Sincerely, Shogakukan."

6. Oh, I see. But, this is Zephyr Town.

Thought bubble thing: ....Zephyr Town?!

7. Yamabiko Town is that way. You still have one week left, so there's plenty of time to make it!

8. Thank you, lady! Bye byyyyyyye!

So yes, Darth, it does in fact have to do with the new game. It's giving us the name of the town in the new game and the proposed release date - February 23.

For once I agree with you. Especially since AWL wasn't a handheld game. lalaexdee.gif

this staetment
Suiko
Whoops. I meant Friends of Mineral Town but I still stand by thinking the handheld games have been terrible
Tolby
Handhelds have been the only good games since FoMT.

B&G
DS (debatable because of glitches, but was good at it's core)
Rune Factory
RF2
RF3
Tale of Two Towns

The islands ones are debatable was well. They were good games, just not my personal style with another new wannabe jack and way to much emphasize on crop details.

Suiko
I think of Rune Factory as a seperate title though. Not that I'm a fan of them anyway but I could at least see why others might like them
Mizukithepanda
I don't know. For me, personally, my hatred of Mineral Town and Mineral Town-based games made (M)FoMT unbearably awful.

Granted, I've also enjoyed a few of the new handheld games. I thought that Welcome to the Wind Bazaar and Twin Villages were great, fun games. Yeah, the cast and their stock phrases were a bit limited, but that's true in every Harvest Moon title, be it handheld or console.

On the opposite end of things, I haven't truly enjoyed a console HM game since HM64.

BTN pretty much pissed on everything I loved about the characters from 64 and didn't bring enough to the series to justify such bastardization. However, at its core, it was not a bad game.

I thought that AWL was absolutely horrible. It had one of the smallest HM casts since the GBC games, and instead of focusing on and including everything that was fun about Harvest Moon, it rendered everything completely pointless just so that you could go through the agonizingly meticulous and laborious task of raising your kid the way you wanted. Screw that, they can remain toddlers forever for all I care.

I've never played MM or ToT, so I can't comment on either. I know for a fact that back when the commercials were airing, I was rather put off by MM's art style. Also, when ToT came out, there wasn't a single Wii console in the house.

Now.... Animal Parade... That game got two things right. One was the expansive map, and the other was the farming system. Outside of that, the game was dull after you got all of the bells (which were far too easy to obtain) , the characters were boring, and the lag made playing unbearable.

So yeah, long-winded, but I really think that at this point, the handheld games have more promise than the console games. Maybe if Marvelous steps it up and brings out a really stand-out console game with an interesting cast, great game mechanics, and a lack of horribly debilitating lag they'll be able to change my mind.
